Los Cabos tattoo parlors..... cuban cigars... golf rates?
Hey I was hoping for some qualified info from someone that knows about a quality tattoo shop in Cabo that I could visit when I am there in March. Also, I was wondering about finding a way to get a good deal on a round of golf as I know it is pricey, but I'm sure there are "ways". Also, where should I go to get find some nice paintings/pottery/art to bring back with me that has the local feel to it. Also, any good info on the new Riu Santa Fe hotel???? My cousin is insisting that I ask these questions: First, where can he get good, CHEAP dental work done in/around Cabo when we are there....second, if he buys some cubans, what is the best way to bring a few back to the US on a plane without problems.....third!!!! Where can he find some high quality BUD, as he thinks he can buy it from locals on the street, but I have my doubts as the town is know to be somewhat Americanized. Sorry for the long list, but just trying to get everything in and plan ahead! PLEASE HELP CABO CHICK!!!!
Holy Crap! You don't ask for much do you! lmao!
Okay! So I already got enough tattoos, so I haven't bothered getting anymore down here, but I did talk to some guys named Emil and Dizzle and they told me to come down to Hart & Huntingtons which just opened up last year on the main drag. Haven't yet, but will.
I've had dental work done by Dr. Pena. She's located in SJD and is still pretty reasonable. She's located in Plaza Dorada.
You can swing better golf rates for twilights and if you are willing to go to a timeshare presentation, but your best bet is my favorite little course. Its in the town called San Jose del Cabo (20 mins from Cabo) and its $40 for 18 holes at the old municipal golf course, which is now owned by the Mayan Palace group. If you can find someone to give you an utility bill then you get it half price. I just played a round a week ago. I've almost played just about every course (comp'd!) and they are really worth the money though....
Tons of shopping and art galleries around, so you should be able to find knicknacks, pottery or art that you like...and even though the "art of bargaining" has gone, you will find the prices about half price when the cruise ships aren't in town.
Riu Santa Fe is...well, its pretty nice. I walked through when it first opened. I'd probably stay there before I'd go to the Riu Palace. I think the best reason to stay at either place is because they are so close to town, walkable/stumbleable, all inclusive, and have all the activities and beach stuff you could ever want.
Also, we have so many cigar shops here, and they are all about the same price/quality wise. Everyone always talks about Hemingways (or JnJ Habanos which is owned by the same people)...I don't smoke so I have no idea. Good luck getting them back into the states though...customs are watching for them and you'll find your suitcase opened and them missing, not to mention a few of my american amigos have gotten fines! so don't bother. Just smoke them when you are here and enjoy!
Bud is easy to find. Almost every hombre that sits at the luncheras in front of Cabo Wabo sells "ups" and "downs". Quality ain't gonna be what you are used to but you have to know somebody here to get any of the good stuff. What ever you do, don't get pulled over by federalies with any on ya.
Hope this helps!
