who does a good job framing - and has a large selection of wall frames? I need the frames for art, not photos.
So much depends on where you live and the size of the painting. For instance, there are certain size canvasses that framing companies make that are called 'ready made frames'. 16x20 30 x40 36x48 are some examples. It is always cheaper to paint on standard size canvasses and buy a ready made frame. Custom frames are the odd sizes. Squares, or odd numbers. Places like Michale's usually have students in the framing dept and they are usually not knowledgeable about how wide the molding should be for the size picture or what is a great look. They assemble the pictures but the frames are ordered out on custom jobs. Same with Hobby Lobby. But the standard frames can be a deal when on sale.
