Is the movie "Lady Sings the Blues" with Diana Ross about Billie Holiday appropriate for a teacher to show
to a class of emotionally disturbed but extremely bright girls? We are studying the decade of the 1940's in US History and one student did research on bIllie Holiday and asked that I rent the video.
You must go with the movie rating. I can't imagine your being able to show a movie with an R rating to any student younger than 18. Your school or school district must have guidelines. If you don't follow them your job may be at risk. Sorry. There must be other more age appropriate options.
