Possible Audition Songs? Please, please help!!?
Ok, So Im auditioning for my High School
Osceola School Of The Arts!!
And I need to choose 2 songs to sing. Here are the Rules...
In addition to completing the application, students applying for Vocal Music
should prepare the following:
Perform two songs of contrasting styles. Pieces may be classical, folk, or sacred musical selections. Singing pop music is discouraged and may cause a candidate to
be rejected.
I have a pretty large range. Im not good with lower songs. I can practically hit everything that is higher. My friend Melissa calls me Mini Marriah Carrey lol. Please Please help me!!
I was thinking about doing the Star Spangled Banner for one of my songs
and then I want to do a slow song like "The Climb" or "Please be Mine". I really need your help. thank you all!!
From what they have said in the instructions, you want to give no hint of the Mariah Carrey connection. There are collections of classical songs that are available in different editions of each voice range. Try to find a slow, pretty one (maybe minor and tragic sounding) that shows off your tone and then contrast that with a quicker, happier sounding song.
