if i get a simple tribal style tattoo will it last longer as i get older?

you know how old people's tattoos are all blurry with the colors running together? if i just get a simple tribal dragon tattoo in black will it stay better looking for longer when i get older? or does it not matter and that's just what happens anyways?

Tattoos age with you. As you get older and your skin changes texture your tattoo will fade a bit. The lines won't be as crisp. They'll start to spread a bit. This just happens.

Of course, times have changed and tattooing techniques have changed with them. Artists no longer go as deep (in most cases) which helps quite a bit. Inks are being made brighter and in more and more colors. People are starting to make better decisions about their art and what kind of detail will hold up better over time. Size matters. Detail matters. If there's too much detail in a small area it's going to blur out faster than something that's got more space in between the detail. This allows it to spread to some degree and still be easily 'readable'.

Don't be fooled, black ink will fade just as quickly as color.
