Why do we not enjoy cheap French wine prices as part of the EU?
As part of the EEC we were promised equality in goods. We have to sell north sea oil to other member states at the same cost as we sell to ourselves so how come we do not get wine from France at the same price as they pay?
because tax harmonisation is down to country governments and they choose not to do it. It is the same with fuel. Why do we pay more for out car fuel than other member states? Because the government want our taxes.
